Plastic Setting dies will set the silver cores better
than anything I have used. The hard but flexible plastic will force
the silver to to follow the contours of your bead. You will need to
pull hard to get the most from these dies. I recommend using a pipe
over the press handle to increase your leverage. The dies will become
rough with use but will continue to do their job. Should they become
too rough, I can repair them for $10. Plastic setting dies will set (1/4" and larger) silver core better than anything I have used.

Description:
Dapping Balls (3/8", 1/2", 3/4") Use these dapping balls to dome your bead caps. You will need to supply your own dapping block. Put a dapping ball in the press and lower it into the chosen socket in the dapping block. This will center the socket under the ball so the bead cap will dome symmetrically. Place a bead cap in the socket and pull on the press, the bead cap is now domed. There are three sizes of dapping balls to choose from depending on the size of the cap and the height of the dome. |
